The Scottish Graduate School of Social Science (SGSSS) is thrilled to announce that they have been selected as a new partner for the Next Generation Research Supervision Project (RSVP). Following a call for expressions of interest, RSVP has approved the SGSSS proposal, recognising their existing work and commitment to advancing research supervision.
SGSSS joins a prestigious group of industry leaders in this innovative initiative, a full list of which can be found here. RSVP aims to review, enhance, and shape the quality and effectiveness of research supervision, fostering a collaborative environment where academic and professional development can flourish.
Over the course of four years the £4.6million, Research England funded project, will explore four key areas:
- The role of team supervision
- Supervision practice in different disciplines and contexts
- Supervising different types of research degree
- Understanding and combating poor supervision practice.
Through this partnership, SGSSS will contribute to a range of activities designed to support and enhance the research supervision process. This includes developing best practices, creating training programs, and engaging in research that will inform and improve supervision methodologies.
