Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is the national skills body for Scotland supporting the people and businesses of Scotland to develop and apply their skills.

SDS works with a variety of partners to deliver careers advice and guidance, apprenticeships opportunities, support for employability, and help for those facing redundancy. SDS also works with employers and industry bodies to support skills planning and workplace development in Scotland.

Skills Development Scotland co-funds four Collaborative Studentships annually and has offered PhD internships through SGSSS for a number of years.
