I’m a third year full-time PhD student at the University of Glasgow. My research is about queer migration in Kazakhstan, and involves both difficult language training (Kazakh) and overseas fieldwork.
My experience has been varied, as a first-generation and mature student in undergrad, and an international student in my master’s.
I want to make PhD study as accessible as possible for ‘non-traditional’ students, and develop practical support and community for doctoral scholars. My experience includes four years of student representation, and two years as a governor of my university on the University Court.
