The Scottish Graduate School of Social Science offers PhD researchers the opportunity to apply for paid internships with public sector, private sector, or non-profit organisations. The internships last 3 months (full-time) or 6 months (part-time).
The internship placements are an excellent opportunity to use your research skills in a new context, developing transferable skills and experience that will support you in the future. Past students have worked on policy reviews in the Scottish Government, advised on financial vulnerability within RBS, and worked with aid agencies in Nepal.
We offer pre-designed internship projects twice a year through our Open Call Competition, or researchers can get in touch with the team any time to design an internship through the Student Led Internship Scheme.
