Internships
SGSSS arranges paid internship opportunities for PhD researchers to gain experience with partner organisations in the public, private or third sector.
Undertaking an internship gives you an opportunity to make a difference for a partner organisation, whilst also developing your transferable skills, knowledge of different sectors, and professional networks. Former projects have included policy internships with the Scottish Government, a placement reviewing RBS’ strategy for supporting the victims of financial abuse, and a placement supporting an international development consultancy to work with aid agencies in Nepal.
Internships can be undertaken full-time (for up to 3 months) or part-time (for up to 6 months). We run a biannual Open Call Competition, or you can get in touch with the SGSSS any time to discuss setting up an internship with a partner organisation of your choice.
