SGSSS Impact Competition 2022

The SGSSS Impact Competition is live for 2022! The competition is open to all social science PhD students, regardless of your year or funding source. It provides an opportunity to reflect on the meaningful difference your research can make outside academia, and to win up to £1000 funding to support ongoing projects.

This year we have devised two different categories within the competition:

Category one: PhD students in their 1st year of studies – the aim is to articulate how you intend to develop impact in the next years of your PhD – you can refer to any impact-related activities you might be planning, and the outcomes you would expect to achieve.

Category two: PhD students in their 2nd and 3rd year of studies – the aim is to showcase impact that you have generated in the last 12 months – be this through your PhD research, an internship, or a special project such as a cross-institutional collaboration.

Why get involved?

  • Develop important skills identifying and articulating the impact of your research;
  • Reflect on and celebrate the difference that you are making through your work;
  • Win up to £1000 follow-on funding to further develop the impact of your work!

Winners of the Competition will be announced in the beautiful venue of the V&A Museum in Dundee, 24 May 2022.
